Robeck Hotrods

Here we are in Bement, IL at Robeck Hotrods, who is responsible for building one of the most amazing hotrods around.

These are my buddies, Dan, Kyle, and Chris (Robeck).

We always have a good time pinstriping and airbrushing, and just hanging with the guys in Bement.

Mr. B - Owner of Indy Exotics

Mr. B is the owner of "Indy Exotics", which is well known for the cars they have built for many famous people like Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton. They have even built many motorcycles, including some for Jesse James of West Coast Choppers.
Mr. B came out to see Shawn with a project.
"Mr. B said 'I bet I have something you have never painted on before.' I assured him that I have painted on everything...or so I thought. 'Well', Mr. B said, 'I would like for you to design my eye.' You see, Mr. B has a glass eye and wants a Shawn Ealy designed eye, with graphics and flames. He said I can do what I want, so the next time you see Mr. B, take a close look at his custom airbrushed eye! It has to be one of the coolest things ever."

Thank you, Mr. B.

Mr. B of Indy Exotics and airbrush artist, Shawn Ealy.

Indianapolis, IN

Shawn spent last weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana airbrushing in the Irvington Shopping Plaza.

Owner, Darren, of In Tune Music Co., and his wife had Shawn airbrush T-shirts for them. To help them advertise their business with guitars, Shawn filled the shirts up with music notes and guitars.

"They were great to meet and I had fun working with them."

Chief AJ

Chief AJ has many world records-all involving his skill in shooting.

This photo shows a truckload of wooden blocks. Each block was thrown into the air and shot by Chief AJ, and not a single one was missed. Over 40,000 blocks were thrown and hit with a 22 caliber ruger rifle. Pretty Amazing.
Chief AJ also holds shooting records with other guns, and even a sling shot! Many of his latest records were achieved at the age of 70 and older. He is still in great shape and going strong. Shawn says, "His goal setting and achievements are a great inspiration" and wrote this for his friend, Chief.

Spirit of the Wind
For Chief AJ

He is the Spirit of the Wind.
His free and young spirit has inspired and tought young men to dream.
His drive and determination will teach you to be everything you dare to be.
His attitude and flare for life will tell you, Be proud of where you came from and never be afraid of who you are.
Be sure and certain of both of these and you have already come so far.
You will be glad to meet him, this Spirit of the Wind.
He will always shoot you straight, you will always call him friend.

-Shawn Ealy

This is the most recent project Shawn airbrushed for Chief AJ.

Shane Gould

Along with Harley signs, toys, tools, and limited Harley pick-up trucks, Shane Gould is a true Harley rider. Shane recently had an eagle airbrushed on the front of his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Along with the eagle, Ealy pinstriped the names of Shane's family on the bike.

Shawn also pinstriped this dragon, representing US Highway 129, which crosses the Tennessee and North Caroline state lines. This highway is known as "The Dragon" because of it's many curves; 318 curves within 11 miles, to be exact. Although dangerous, it is a very popular stretch of highway for bikers, like Shane Gould, who revisits many bike runs, especially the stretch of road known as "The Dragon", every year.

The final days of the trip lead Shawn Ealy to the VFW Hot Rod Show.

Shawn had the opportunity to hang with good friends
and getting a chance to pinstripe is always a plus.

Some videos popped up on youtube from this event of
Shawn Ealy pinstriping at the 2009 VFW Show in Henderson, NV.

Shawn Ealy paints The Freedom Shrine at Robert Taylor Elementary

The next week, Shawn Ealy painted more mural
work inside Robert Taylor Elementary.

This piece is called The Freedom Shrine. The
artwork is just a background to historical paperwork
and records that helped define our heritage, freedoms,
and The Declaration of Independence.

Shawn Ealy attends 2009 Meet at the Pass

Shawn Ealy arrived in Las Vegas and attended the 2009
Meet at the Pass Car Show, held at Railroad Pass.

"There I got a chance to see many old friends from the car
show scene from back in the day still cruisin' the street of the
Henderson and Las Vegas area."

Trucks, cars, hot rods and rat rods came out to the show.

Even Fat Daddys Ice Cream Truck was in attendance.
Check him out at FatDaddysIceCream.com.

Shawn Ealy got a chance to hang out with Bob Crellin and Dennis Best.

After getting a chance to hang out with Bob and get some
ideas, Shawn Ealy spent the days following the show
detailing hot rod flames Ealy style.

And Shawn topped it off with lettering and this incredible
Old School pinstriped centerpiece on the hood. The car
features murals by Shawn Ealy, honoring the life and time of
Jungle Jim and Jungle Pam.

Owner, Bob Crellin has a long history of racing, himself. He began
racing at the age of 15. Bob stopped racing at the age of 26
after 2 serious wrecks. For many years, racing was set aside in Bob's life.

Dennis Best is a fabricator builder, who worked with Bob
on this project.

We hope to see this and the story behind the car in a future
"Hot Rod Magazine" feature.
