Ken Stein's Bike

In the past few weeks, Shawn's eyes have been opened to a whole new industry: bicycles. Ken Stein brought in his bicycle, which he handmade himself, to have Shawn add his touch.

"I enjoy a challenge. It's nice to do detailed work for someone who really appreciates it. Since Ken built the entire bike, he enjoys the process of painting it as much as the final product."

It took Ken nearly 3 months to build his bike after taking a course, instructed by Karl Hahn. Ken said that if he was able to dedicate 8 hours a day, he would have been able to complete his bike in about 3 weeks.

The entire frame is made out of 'True Temper OX Platinum' steel.

Shawn laid the graphics down and sprayed Kandy Orange over the whole frame.

Shawn is adding finishing touches to the 'KS' logo on front.

Shawn added blue pearl into the clear, giving the frame an extra shine with the sun.

Corona Bowling Pins

Chris Adams came in to Shawn with 23 bowling pins from the Sunset Station. He asked Shawn to consistently paint 2 sides of each bowling pin to look like a Corona bottle.

Chris came by to pick up the first half of the completed bowling pins, and left the other half for Shawn to complete.

Head over to Sunset Station for a night of bowling, and see Shawn's most recent project.

This is the next project with Chris Adams and friends at Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada. Shawn is preparing a fully custom painted Pacifico VW Bus. You'll want to see this!

Happy Birthday Dylan Thaxton!

Dylan Thaxton is turning 16 years old on Sunday, January 13, and his parents, George and Dawna Thaxton have bought him a 1978 Chevy Z28. The greatest thing about it: Dylan has no idea. George brought the car to Shawn to put graphics and finishing touches on it, and it will be presented to Dylan at his birthday party on Saturday.

A candid of Dad, slaving away on his sons car.

Cody Day, future Professional Bull Rider, stopped by and threw in a helping hand to sand.

The car is prepped, and Shawn is spraying black.

Tada! George and Shawn reveal the back end to us.

A shot of the hood.

The supervisor.

Time for 'Deal or No Deal'! The crowd says, "Don't settle yet! See what else there is."

Talking to the Banker (Dad). Dylan turned away $1,000 for a remote control jeep, $2,000 for a brown van, and $3,000 for a Honda Accent.

Dylan sees his car for the first time.

And, Shawn brings out the mullet, giving Dylan a piece of his past.

One greatful 16 year old.

Dad gets the first ride.

See ya!

Checkin' out what's under the hood.

Dad, Dylan, and Uncle Boyd.

Happy Birthday, Dylan!

Evil Ram Tailgate

For the last few weeks, Shawn has also been working on a tailgate. Juan came to Shawn with an idea of airbrushing a ram's head in the middle of his tailgate.

In the beginning process, Shawn is seen sanding the surface of the tailgate.

Shawn airbrushed the head of the ram using a mixture of brown and white, to make a 'bone' color.

He used black to help with the shadows, and purple to give the ram a glow.

Then he used red, orange, and yellow for the fire in the background.

Shawn also used the red, orange, and yellow to highlight the ram. Finally, he used a brush and pinstriped barbwire, weaving around the ram.
