Fly'n Kline

Cara brought in a new helmet for Shawn to airbrush for her boyfriend, Bradley Kline. Shawn has known the Kline family for a very long time, since he went to school with Charlie Kline, Bradley's uncle.

On the top of the helmet, Shawn airbrushed the tattoo design that Bradley has on his arm.

Shawn pinstriped the entire helmet and airbrushed real fire on the front.

On the back, he lettered Bradley's initials, and "Fly'n Kline", Bradley's nickname.

Trent's helmet

Trent Scacco is a motocross racer, who brought in his helmet for Shawn to add some color.

Trent gave basic instructions to paint the helmet neon green, and in purple, paint his last name and his number '02'.
Of course, Shawn took these instructions to the extreme and added small flames inside of the lettering, and outlined the letters in silver and black.

He also airbrushed green skulls, covering the helmet.
Shawn finished with a black pinstripe design on top, and a small design in the back.

Good luck on all of your endeavors, Trent, and we hope to see you soon.

Diane's Rose

Diane brought in her motorcycle helmet for Shawn to add his touch.
Sometimes, a simple design can be very impressive. This helmet displays a single rose on a black background.
A closer look reveals water droplets sliding off of the rose, a shimmer of pearl in the leaves, and even tiny thorns, done with a fine line brush.

Lt. Colonel's bike

Lt. Colonel Montgomery brought in his motorcycle parts after meeting up with Shawn at Greaser's Rod and Kustom Reunion.

The parts to his motorcycle have been prepped and primer has been applied.

The black specks are called a guide coat. Shawn is sanding the guide coat off, and as soon as it disappears, it is ready for paint.

Shawn is now spraying on the blue base coat.

The Colonel loved the idea of having eagles on his motorcycle, and was quick to tell Shawn to put his own twist on it.

Shawn is using a fine line brush to paint the feathers.

Next, Shawn free-hand pinstripes with red, white, and blue.

He finishes the tank with a ring of white stars, and the head of an eagle with feathers behind it on both sides.

Shawn added another red, white, and blue pinstripe design, with blue pearl feathers on the front fender.

The rear fender displays more free-hand pinstriping in the same color array, with feathers accenting the center of the design.

The main feature of the side panels is a ghosted image of an eagle's head, along with three patriotic stars.

When Shawn clear coated the pieces, he added blue pearl.

Thanks for everything Colonel!

Robert Taylor Elementary Career Fair

Shawn spent a few hours at Robert Taylor Elementary, speaking to the students during their Career Fair.

The age of the groups ranged from Kindergarten to 5th grade.

Shawn introduced them to the airbrush, explained how he started his business, and showed them a few techniques.

"You can draw anything!" was one form of flattery that the students offered Shawn.

Shawn painted this tiger and donated it to the Robert Taylor Tigers. It will be on display in the new building.

"Shawn Ealy, an artist in Henderson, attended school at Robert Taylor in 1978. He started drawing before kindergarten, and has continued to do art his entire life. Shawn started his studio in 1988, immediately after graduating from Basic High School, making this year 20 years in the professional art field. Shawn is very involved with schools and their career fairs. His message to young people is “Believe in yourself, and you can achieve your goals. You will face challenges along the way, but never give up.” He is donating this painting on May 9, 2008."
About the painting:
Artist: Shawn Ealy
Title: “The Robert Taylor Tiger”
Painted on: 48”x48” primed canvas with medium Acrylic paint. All of the lines, blends, and effects were created with the use of one Paasche VL-3 airbrush.

In 2003, Shawn painted this mural on the cafeteria wall, along with a poem that he wrote.

Bartelts Freedom Rider

The Bartelt family owns this one-of-a-kind trike. It was custom built here in Southern Nevada, and though the Bartelts have many hours into wiring, motor building, and modifications, Shawn Ealy has many hours putting the final details including pinstriping, pearl and metallic paint, and of course, airbrush detail.

Originally, the trike was orange, but the Bartelts had something else in mind. Shawn is primering the trike, covering the last bit of visible orange.

A deep metallic blue was the color chosen for the base.

The builder began this trike with just a windshield, and decided to build something around it. It has a 6-cylinder Corvair motor, brand new springer front end, and many other extras. This rear roll pan was taken from the front of a VW Bus. This is one example of the many hours of detail that went into fabricating this one-of-a-kind convertible cruiser.

Shawn airbrushed an eagle with it's wings spread, outlined with blue pinstripe. He also detailed the roll pan with a red, white, and blue pinstripe design, and white stars.

The New York City skyline decorates the cargo bed of the vehicle. Shawn is detailing the Brooklyn Bridge.

The finished cargo bed displays a waving American flag in the background, with New York City, and the Statue of Liberty.

Shawn is airbrushing a more detailed eagle on the hood.

The front of the trike has another red, white, and blue pinstripe design, and two small eagles in pearl blue. The eagle on the hood is finished with red, white, and blue feathers, and white stars behind it.

Another pinstripe design and red, white, and blue feathers decorate another part of the trike.

Mark requested that Shawn add in a wolf howling at the moon for his dad, Butch.

Shawn is airbrushing the head of an eagle, with red and blue streaks on it's face, on the sides of the trike.

Red and blue feathers float off of the eagle, towards the back.
