This week, Shawn is painting a 1953 Panhead for Rick, who is a Vietnam veteran.

Today, we have it in primer and Shawn is sanding the guide coat away. Tonight, it will be House of Kolor Black. Shawn's friend, Dale, said it is one of the deepest black bases he has worked with, so Shawn wanted to try it out.

Now that the black is on, it is time for Shawn's favorite part, the artwork.

Shawn painted the P.O.W. M.I.A. logo with lettering underneath that reads, 'Help Bring Them Home. You Will Not Be Forgotten.'
On the other tank, Shawn painted the Marine Corps logo.

Shawn is using a 1 inch double zero size brush, which enables him to detail the artwork with fine lines.

Finally, Shawn added clouds and mountains for the background.

Rick came in to see the artwork before it was cleared, and gave 100% approval with a smile on his face.

These logos have great sentimental value to Rick, and serve as a tribute to his services and all of the men that were out there with him.

Now that Rick has the tanks back with the artwork on them, he decided to bring in his fenders to have them done as well. Shawn is in the beginning stage of sanding the fenders.

After they were prepped and sanded, it was time to spray on the black. Rick asked Shawn to put the fallen soldier statue with the phrase 'All Gave Some, Some Gave All' on his rear fender . When this is finished, it will complete the Vietnam Memorial bike.

Shawn is airbrushing black to shadow the boots and helmet.

Shawn added shoelaces on the boots, and barbwire around them for finishing touches.

The front fender is outlined with pinstriped barbwire.

Rick stopped by today to bring in the finished project. If you pay attention to the details from the chrome to the artwork, this is one of the most intricate panheads out there.
