Shawn Ealy sings National Anthem

During the Moultrie-Douglas County Fair, Shawn hung up his airbrush for an afternoon to participate in a singing competition. He had a lot of fun, but was soon back to work in the booth.

Later that evening, he was busy doing T-shirts when a golf cart drove up and a fair committee member says, "We need you to sing! Be at the announcers booth by the race track for the Demonition Derby in 10 minutes. The person who was supposed to sing the National Anthem did not show up, and they need someone now."

Shawn's perspective-- "There was no time for practice as I walked across the fair grounds. I went up the steps while they were making announcements. I entered the booth, crowded with event and race officials as the announcer finished pre-race technicalities and asked everyone to stand for our National Anthem. He then asked everyone to be silent and handed the mic to me. The fair ground was silent. Thousands of people were standing quiet, holding their hats, looking up at me, waiting for me to sing our country's song... When I was finished, the cheers and excitement from the crowds made me feel good. I would love to do it again...maybe with a little more notice next time."

Let the games begin!!
