Monument in Ashmore, IL

This is a monument Shawn found in Ashmore, IL. It is a constant reminder of how proud we are as Americans of our troops!

Chris Logan

We took time to visit our friend in Champaign at his airbrush kiosk. If you're ever in Champaign Marketplace Mall, stop by and say hi to Chris Logan.

Fair Friends

We always meet really good people at the fairs. Our friends, who own the Covered Wagon Roasted Almonds booth requested that Shawn airbrush a covered wagon for them when we learned their story of how they got their name. He told us how he met her when she was traveling to the West in a covered wagon. If you see them in the Midwest, definitely try their product, but also ask to hear their amazing story.

Shawn Ealy sings National Anthem

During the Moultrie-Douglas County Fair, Shawn hung up his airbrush for an afternoon to participate in a singing competition. He had a lot of fun, but was soon back to work in the booth.

Later that evening, he was busy doing T-shirts when a golf cart drove up and a fair committee member says, "We need you to sing! Be at the announcers booth by the race track for the Demonition Derby in 10 minutes. The person who was supposed to sing the National Anthem did not show up, and they need someone now."

Shawn's perspective-- "There was no time for practice as I walked across the fair grounds. I went up the steps while they were making announcements. I entered the booth, crowded with event and race officials as the announcer finished pre-race technicalities and asked everyone to stand for our National Anthem. He then asked everyone to be silent and handed the mic to me. The fair ground was silent. Thousands of people were standing quiet, holding their hats, looking up at me, waiting for me to sing our country's song... When I was finished, the cheers and excitement from the crowds made me feel good. I would love to do it again...maybe with a little more notice next time."

Let the games begin!!

Moultrie-Douglas County Fair 2009

Shawn set up for an entire week at the Moultrie-Douglas County Fair in Arthur, IL.

The County Fair Pageant Director put Shawn to work right away, painting a backdrop for the Hollywood themed pageant.

Working in a 10'x10' booth can lead to minor challenges, so Shawn had to pin the backdrop on the outside of the booth and work in the sun.

Shawn's neice, and Little Miss Tuscola, Carlie Pearl gave it a go for the Little Miss Mo-Do County Fair Queen. Displayed behind her is the airbrushed Hollywood banner.

Kaylin is an artist and decided to have a shirt airbrushed with her favorite color, green.

This gentleman had Shawn airbrush a shirt in honor of his friend, SSGT. Jason Burkholder, a fallen soldier. Shawn wanted to make this shirt special for him, so he put in extra time with the details. From the red, white, and blue theme, to the beams of light, down to the laces on the boot.

Shawn wrapped up the first couple nights, staying busy until after closing time.

This young man was having a blast, and requested Shawn's autograph on the front of his shirt.

This crazy crowd put their money in a pot and had Shawn airbrush a love-themed shirt centered around an inside joke. Poor Sarah was not too happy with Shawn, and only then did we realized we knew this Sarah. Luckily she's a family friend and was quick to forgive. I'm sure we'll be seeing these guys again soon.

Scottie Branca was thrilled after his son won Little Mister Moultrie-Douglas. This pageant dad had his jacket airbrushed to match the lettering on his truck, which Shawn painted this time last year, featuring the catchphrase "Turkey Killer."

After watching the Tractor Pull competition, this young man decided he needed a shirt airbrushed portraying exactly what he just saw.

Megan requested a heart/peace sign adorned with her name and her boyfriend's name.

If it were a perfect world, Aiden would have ended up with a shirt that Shawn had on display, which featured an eyeball and some tools, and was clearly not age appropriate. You will see this shirt a few pictures below. Aiden and his mother compromised and came to an agreement; a rabbit. The only stipulation was that the rabbit had to have big eyes.

Shawn airbrushed a shirt for this couple with a detailed lace outline of the heart.

Even the press wanted a custom T-shirt done.

The Demolition Derby inspired these matching T-shirts. Unfortunately, the driver took a mud bath the next night while wearing his shirt. Although, he did win that feature, so it was all in good fun.

Once again, Shawns display shirt inspired another T-shirt design. This shirt is almost identical to the display, only in a smaller size.

After being crowned fair royalty, Emily and Rachel design their own Miss and Jr Miss T-shirts.

Shawn kept busy all week, working late into the last night of the fair.

This is the display shirt that inspired many and one of these brothers bought it right off the shelf.

The other brother designed his own custom shirt.

This poor little guy woke up just to get his picture taken. He wanted a pirate on his shirt.

We had a blast being surrounded by this family, who ran the game booths, the carnival rides, and a few of the food trailors. We'll be seeing you next year!

Phil and Suzanne Davis

Shawn went to meet with Phil and Suzanne Davis at their beautiful horse ranch. They plan to have Shawn paint a mural in their indoor horse training arena. While we were there, they introduced us to their beautiful horses.

"This is one of the most amazing horses I have ever seen. The picture does not do it justice to the size and elegance of this animal."

Tuscola 4th of July 2009

Shawn set up a booth again this year to airbrush T-shirts in the Midwest for the 4th of July weekend.

Shawn was busy airbrushing shirts all day. Early in the day, we had a lady come up and request this shirt, with the slogan "Redneck Love". Everyone agreed, it doesn't get more redneck than that T-shirt. It was for fun and they enjoyed it.

Natalie came up with her softball helmet and had some ideas in mind.

Shawn stayed busy throughout the day, illustrating peoples ideas onto their T-shirt.

The bike was completed prior to the show. Daryl spent the afternoon putting it together in the park, next to the booth. Onlookers were amazed at the intricate detail.

A band had their slogan put on a T-shirt. When they're not busy rockin', they're busy running the Washington Street Pub in Tuscola.

Shawn was busy all the way into the evening as people prepared for the fireworks.

Happy birthday to Kali!!

It is always fun airbrushing for new people who are inspired and having fun with the art Shawn had created for them.

It started with just one, then everyone came up with an idea for their own shirt.

Even temporary tattoo art took place at the festival.
We were prepared for the entire weekend, but unfortunately the last day got rained out. The only event that weathered the storm was the Mud Volleyball Tournament.
See ya next year!

Road Trip: Me and Tyler

Tyler's saying bye to his mother and we are on our way to Illinois.

Tyler enjoyed taking pictures along the way. He took quite a few, but I really like this one of the tunnel that he captured.

Our country is proud. We saw lots of memorials along our way. It was very inspirational.

Here is Tyler with a monument he liked a lot. It was nice to see these, and take a break off the road.

Here is more of the monuments. We drove 14 hours the first day, and it was later than 1am when we finally stopped at this hotel below.

This is actually the next morning when we were heading out to finish our trip.

We had breakfast at the Bird City Diner. They were really nice and the food was really good.

We were heading through Kansas on our way to meet up with Tenille and Daryl, to pick up her motorcycle she wanted painted.

Seeing this inspired me. It reminded me of a lot of my friends, who serve for our country.

We met up with Tenille and her son. We discussed the paint job we were going to do on her motorcycle. Then we were back on the road to finish our trip.

Tyler wanted to see this hill climbing park, so we took a break and stretched our legs.

After many hours in the truck. It was the last day and turning into evening. Less than 2 hours away from our final destination.

The trip took a turning point when a deer jumped out into the roadway, and we hit it doing about 55 mph. As you can see the damage to the truck was substantial, and it ended our driving for the evening. We stayed at the side of the road and soon IL State Police came to help. He was very nice and mentioned he'll see up to 15 deer collisions in one evening on this stretch of the highway.

This is our tow truck driver, who got us safely to the Comfort Inn in Jacksonville, IL. The next morning, Uncle Tim towed us the last leg of our trip.
