He brought in a welding helmet for Shawn to airbrush for his nephew, Brandon Milner, who lives in Thompson Falls, Montana. Brandon is starting college and will be studying diesel mechanics and welding. Tim is giving the helmet as a gift for him to use, and also as a means of inspiration.

Tim's idea of the metal plate effect ties in Brandons interests along with the Mopar emblem.

Shawn personalized the helmet for Brandon by including his last name on the front.

Shawn finished the paint job with flames on the sides.

Illustration

Karla wanted to do something unique and very different for her son's birthday, so she had Shawn Ealy airbrush a very detailed mural on a 4ft x 8ft illustration board. As mentioned before, Bill is the owner of the magazine called "Luv 2 Bike".

The frame is competely stripped, and Shawn is sanding it, preparing for the primer.

Next, Shawn sprayed the primer, and will begin the painting process.

Now, Shawn is seen lettering the 'Luv 2 bike' logo in black, red, and white.

Since Bill's last name is Woolf, he asked Shawn to include a wolf to personalize his bike. Her request was for the paintjob to be unisex. Together they decided on a tribal design, surrounded by a sheet metal effect, and a lace pattern.

After the rhino parts were sanded and primered, Shawn spent hours laying out the tribal design and taping it.

After it was all taped up, Shawn sprayed purple and used cellophane to create a marble effect inside of the tribals.

Then, Shawn used black pinstripes to outline the tribals.

The next step was the sheet metal effect. After Shawn finished that, he airbrushed hibiscus flowers and a lace pattern. He finished with a small pinstripe design.

Shawn used the same process for the side panels and the tailgate, beginning with the marbelized tribal design, and finishing with the sheet metal, hibiscus and lace pattern, and a small pinstripe design. Then, he added the finishing highlights, using brown.

McGee Bike

Matt brought in his wife's bicycle for Shawn to paint.

After Shawn prepped and taped the bike off, he applied primer and white paint. Colton has been away on a mission for the past 2 years. Danny promised this as a gift for Colton upon his return. Now that that time is nearing, Colton has sent a few simple requests, one of them being that no one is to paint the plastics, except for Shawn Ealy. Colton asked for the plastics to be American themed. Shawn is very happy to do this for Danny and Colton, and he hopes that when Colton returns, he is happy with his paintjob.

Shawn began the process by sanding down the parts.

Next, he airbrushed red and white on the ends, and will include stars to resemble the American flag.

Shawn is seen adding detail to the "US Air Force Thunderbirds" in formation, with a paintbrush.

Next to the 'Thunderbirds' is a ghosted image of the Statue of Liberty.

On the side, Shawn painted a ghost image of the head of an eagle.

Shawn airbrushed another ghosted image of the six men raising the American flag.

Though a ghosted image is hard to capture on camera, this close-up displays the Twin towners.

1953 Panhead:Vietnam Memorial

This week, Shawn is painting a 1953 Panhead for Rick, who is a Vietnam veteran.

Today, we have it in primer and Shawn is sanding the guide coat away. Tonight, it will be House of Kolor Black. Shawn's friend, Dale, said it is one of the deepest black bases he has worked with, so Shawn wanted to try it out.

Now that the black is on, it is time for Shawn's favorite part, the artwork.

Shawn painted the P.O.W. M.I.A. logo with lettering underneath that reads, 'Help Bring Them Home. You Will Not Be Forgotten.'
On the other tank, Shawn painted the Marine Corps logo.

Shawn is using a 1 inch double zero size brush, which enables him to detail the artwork with fine lines.

Finally, Shawn added clouds and mountains for the background.

Rick came in to see the artwork before it was cleared, and gave 100% approval with a smile on his face.

These logos have great sentimental value to Rick, and serve as a tribute to his services and all of the men that were out there with him.

Now that Rick has the tanks back with the artwork on them, he decided to bring in his fenders to have them done as well. Shawn is in the beginning stage of sanding the fenders.

After they were prepped and sanded, it was time to spray on the black. Rick asked Shawn to put the fallen soldier statue with the phrase 'All Gave Some, Some Gave All' on his rear fender . It could have been something as simple as a name on a T-shirt, or as intricate as a portrait. Shawn never hesitates to explain where he began or what fueled his success. He also never hesitates to revisit those days when a customer comes in with a request. This young man asked for Shawn to airbrush the Vegas skyline on the back of his jacket. Shawn was more than happy to do it for him, and couldn't help but reminisce on what got him started in the first place.

Las Vegas Bulldogs

The Las Vegas Bulldogs Softball team just got their equipment trailor adorned with a brand new logo. Todd has been a driving instructor at Mario Andretti Racing School for 3 years. His father, Buzz Tapply, was a race car driver, and after years of being around it, Todd began to show interest in it as well.

Shawn is seen prepping the helmet, getting it ready for paint.

Red and blue traditional flames cover the front and sides of the helmet.

The very front has a small blue pinstripe design. At the old campus, Shawn had painted a mural of an American flag, but it was recently knocked down to make room for the new campus.

The theme for this mural was inspired by their previous mural. The central focus is the American flag, waving, as if in the wind.

After Shawn makes the 1ft x 1ft grid, he begins sketching the flag. Because the mural is so big, standing 28ft tall, and 30 ft wide, Shawn is using a set of scaffolding to reach the top half.

After he finished the flag, he painted an eagle soaring over top. On the left side of the mural stands the Statue of Liberty, and Mount Rushmore sits at the bottom.

Shawn begins painting in the colors of the flag, the Statue of Liberty, and the sky in the background.

Shawn finishes the night sky around the eagle, and added purple, blue, and white highlights to bring the flag to life. He begins painting the Liberty Bell to the right of the flag, and is seen adding detail to the Statue of Liberty.

Above the Liberty Bell, Shawn painted a man on the moon, portraying Neil Armstrong, with his spacecraft and the American flag, with Earth seen in the background. Shawn also finished the details on the Liberty Bell, and painted small stars in the bottom left corner of the flag, right above the place designated for Mount Rushmore.

As Mount Rushmore is completed, Shawn included stars and peace signs, which were also a part of the old mural.

Having gone to Robert Taylor Elementary many years ago, Shawn was excited to have the opportunity to paint this mural, which took nearly 3 weeks to complete.
"Art is such an inspiration to children and having an educational focus with each piece of this mural is a great thing."

More Chief AJ gun stocks

Chief AJ, of Tuscola, IL, sent Shawn two more stocks to airbrush. The first stock is inspired by the TV show, 'Anything Wild', which Chief AJ appeared on and offered his knowledge in one of his areas of expertise as they hunted for deer and buffalo.

The backgroud for this stock is painted to look like buffalo grass, and Shawn included feathers, and the 'Anything Wild' logo.

The other side of the stock is adorned with a buffalo and some small pinstripe designs.

Shawn painted the second stock for the Chief's friend, Buddy. Buddy's nephew was killed by a road side bomb, and he wanted this stock to be painted as a tribute to him, which will be donated to his nephew's company commander in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and displayed in a glass case.

This gun stock is named 'Freedom America', and both sides have an eagle, but if you look closely, they are two very different eagles. One side has a realistic eagle, and the other has it's head shaped out of a cluster of stars. The stock also has red and white stripes, and stars symbolizing the American flag. Not able to pass it up, she and her son Danny picked up the painting and brought it to their home. Back then, Shawn was traveling back and forth to California doing numerous art shows. Though he showed many paintings, a majority of the people hired Shawn to paint a commissioned piece. Shawn is very happy that Marcia and Danny discovered this painting, and kept it from going to ruins.

Tuscola, IL 4th of July Celebration

Shawn spent nearly 2 weeks in Tuscola, IL visiting with family and friends, and staying up until 1 am nearly every day finishing projects. When he was in the 3rd grade, he bought his first record ever, the 'KISS Destroyer' album. Since then, Tom has been a fan of KISS, and even still has the vinyl record. For the last 10 years, he has thought about getting his helmet airbrushed, featuring the 'KISS Destroyer' album cover, and after searching for an airbrush artist, and finding Shawn, Tom is finally getting it done.

Shawn is using a combination of colors to create the background.

Tom's nickname is 'Sox', so Shawn is duplicating the 'KISS' font for Tom's name.

The background is complete, and Shawn is beginning to paint the 'KISS' members.

It is at this point in the project that Shawn realized he is going to have many hours of brush detail invested in this design.

Tom came in to pick up his helmet, and was very pleased with the result.

"Tom is a cool guy and I am glad he was happy with the final product.
